Workout Saturday morning was 45 min foundation run @ 8 min pace with 6x20s strides at 7:20-7:30 pace. Also did 3 sets of core with 6lbs med ball and swiss ball.
Sunday was a beer day :-). First non-ultra in 1 mo.

Did 700yds at the Y before old lady aquarobics pulled the plug on me. Will count today as rest day.

Did the New Year's Day 5mi down at the 'ninsula. First mile was ridiculous Carl Lewis shit. My plan was to run it slow at around 8min pace and then build to 7:30 for 2-4 and 7:00 for 5. Ha. Came up on the 1mi marker and did a double take at the ticker...6:30!?!?!? Had to crawl through the middle miles at 9min pace before picking it up last 1.5 or so. Overall I finished inside my goal of 40 min - not bad for just 1mo of solid training but definitely not content ;-). Last year 39:40 or so would have put me in second place in age group. This year I was out of the money :-). Motivation to gun for an age group podium/top 30 at the St. Patrick's day 10k in 42min :-D. I'm snappin slim jim style - 2007's gonna be a great year!!
